The Three Weeks Previous- Salzburg, Austria

Salzburg is of course home to The Sound of Music. Travelling with two music majors, this of course was not only a hot topic (though I am an enthusiastic fan anyway and would have needed little encouragement to seek out the Sound of Music sites) but the general soundtrack of our visit to this beautiful city.
Salzburg is also the hometown of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. We were able to attend a couple of concerts, including this one which I sketched in the Salzburg catedral. Pictured here are the four soloists in front of the organ, performing (with a full choir) Mozarts Mass in C Major.

Pamphlet showing layout of entire Royal American Design Program's sustainable design exhibit.

Sustainable product poster. I proposed a product which replaces wall paint with colored light, creating a healthier indoor environment by reducting indoor air quality.

My Rabbit Rug pattern and its inspiration- an exhibit from the London Natural History Museum demonstrating the cycle of nutrients through a rabbit and the ecosystem of which it is a part.

The Three Weeks Previous- Interlaken, Switzerland

Jess + the Swiss Alps. A pretty good formula for a sucessful photograph.
Canyoning- an adventure combining hiking, rappelling, swimming, rafting, falling, screaming, laughing, etc. etc. etc. An experience worth every penny!
The Alpine canyon which we traversed down.
My helmet name was Pirate. Arrrrgh, Matey! All I's be missin's me hook! (Unless a carabiner works)

The Three Weeks Previous- Barcelona, Spain

Casa Mila ("La Pedrera") by Antoni Gaudi. Amazing architecure, for sure. I loved it- though it was very different than what we deem 'normal', I felt very much at home within its walls and would love to have an apartment there.
One of Gaudis trademark chimneys atop Casa Mila.
Catedral de la Sagrada Famila by Antoni Gaudi. Though it still is under construction, this is an incredible structure. I was deeply moved by the Passion Facade, which is pictured below. Posted by Picasa

The Three Weeks Previous- Granada, Spain

Here is a spattering of photos from my three week tour of southern Europe before study abroad began. It was an incredible experience, as my travel-buddies, Mindy and Jess, could attest. Note: I accidentally deleted some photos from my camera, and since I will not begin the recovery attempt until I am home in the states, some of these early photos are ones I found on the internet.

Alhambra Palace. These have been, without doubt, the most incredible interiors I have seen this entire experience! Definitely worth a detour to Spain!

Granada Cathedral. Beautiful, all-white interiors.
